Karen Luesse
Godan, 5th Degree Black Belt
Karen
started training at Tracys Karate Studio in 1990.
During this time she has gained quite a reputation as a
tough competitor. Karen has won over 100 awards for point
sparring (Kumite) and Forms (Kata). She is currently rated
by the National Black Belt League and Sport Karate Magazine
as the number one woman s featherweight fighter in both
the Prairie States Region and the CANAM National Conference.
For
Karen, the martial arts means more than competing in local,
regional, and national tournaments. Giving back to the art
is a prime concern. That is why, for the last three years,
Karen has been teaching men, women and children the art
of self defense. Through the teaching of Chinese Kenpo,
Karen has helped to empower many individuals to attain higher
standards for themselves and those around them. Many of
Karen's students are following her example and are traveling
the country to participate in national tournaments.
